We are delighted to offer neonatal staff from Derby & Burton NHS Trust an in-person wellbeing day with thanks to support from Toyota Manufacturing Charitable Trust UK. The day will be held at the Derby Conference Centre. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
We would like to see as many people as possible attend and benefit from the day. The day is open to all neonatal staff across the 2 sites. You do not have to be NNA members, or nurses. All staff are welcome.
Neonatal care in troubled times: Taking care of ourselves and each other
Neonatal teams across the country report feeling like they’re in unprecedented times. The lasting impact of Covid, poor staffing, increased clinical acuity and complexity, maternity inquiries and the conviction of Lucy Letby have left our staff feeling demoralised and overwhelmed.
We recognise that no one-off event is an antidote to these challenges. However, with this session we are offering space to reflect on what has been, make sense of the impact and explore what is needed to begin to recover as individuals and as a team.
The day will be very interactive with a range of different activities on offer. We hope to create a really safe space to reflect, learn and develop together, with an invitation to take part as much or as little as you wish.
This day will be provided on behalf of the NNA by two Consultant Clinical Psychologists specialising in neonatal care – Dr Rebecca Chilvers and Dr Ruth Butterworth – who ran two similar events recently for neonatal leaders across the country with very positive feedback.
We really look forward to seeing you there.
